PGA Class A Member of Venezuela
Leadbetter Golf Academy Certified Instructor
RYG™ Certified Teaching Professional

The main focus of my golf career has been dedicated to adult golf instruction and junior golf development. As a junior player, I was mentored by Masters and British Open runner-up Johnny Bulla who helped inspire my love for both the history of the game and golf instruction.

I take seriously the importance of continuing to learn about golf instruction from some of the best golf instructors in the world to develop my skills as a golf coach. Early in my career I spent time observing top coaches such as the late Jim Flick, Mike Bender, and Hank Haney. I worked for well-known instructor Jimmy Ballard at the Palm Beach Polo and Country Club. I assisted him during his classes with tour players and then was promoted to academy instructor. Joining the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, I completed the rigorous teacher certification process becoming a fully certified David Leadbetter Golf Academy instructor. I worked and taught directly under Mr. Leadbetter at the Academy world headquarters in Orlando, assisting him during his lessons with amateurs as well as PGA Tour players.

Moving to Caracas, Venezuela with my wife Katerina, I became a Class A member of the Venezuelan PGA. I served as the Director of Golf Instruction at the Lagunita Country Club in Caracas, Venezuela. At Lagunita I taught players of all skill levels and ages including many top junior, amateur, and professional players in the country. As founder and president of a foundation in Caracas named "Fundación Edugolf," I helped economically disadvantaged children through education and golf; they helped me become fluent in Spanish. The Tiger Woods Foundation and the Chevron Corporation were two of the sponsors of Edugolf. My Edugolf students and I were featured on the Golf Channel and ESPN International.

After leaving Venezuela, I returned with my family to the Atlanta area where I grew up, bringing some students from Edugolf and Lagunita Country Club. I set up a program with host American families, an excellent high school in the Atlanta area, and I provided the intensive golf training. Their English language skills were developed by all these opportunities.

Upon the successful completion of this program, I was hired as a senior golf coach by "IJGA" International Junior Golf Academy in Bluffton, SC; I coached their elite international junior golfers who were working toward college golf scholarships and playing on the professional tours. My time at IJGA was extremely educational and rewarding helping students progress and excel in high level junior and amateur tournaments. I have been fortunate in my career to coach past junior players who have won on the AJGA junior tour and who received golf scholarships to various Division 1 universities. I have coached male and female national junior and amateur champions of Venezuela and have enjoyed teaching aspiring professional players who competed extensively on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.

I am excited to continue my golf career in the beautiful Northwest and to be part of the golf teaching staff of RedTail Golf Center. RedTail has an excellent golf retail and club fitting operation with highly skilled club fitters and some of the most advanced technology available; this offers the environment to provide comprehensive golf instruction covering all aspects of the game. I enjoy working with all ages and skill levels and helping my students develop a long-term plan for improvement. Watching players achieve their golf goals is highly rewarding.

When I am not on the practice tee I love to spend family time with my wife Katerina and our young son Justin. Global financial market investment is also a special interest. Thank you for your interest in the RedTail Golf Center and please let me know if I or any of the other golf professionals at RedTail can assist you with your golf game.
