It wasn’t until later in life that I found my passion for golf. After growing up in Portland and completing my service in the Navy, I decided to attend the Golf Academy of America in San Diego. I graduated with Certifications in Teaching, Club Fitting, and Club Repair. My time at the Golf Academy was extremely beneficial to me, and it really deepened my passion for golf. I then spent the next three years as a Club Fitter and Teaching Professional at Carlsbad Golf Center in Carlsbad, CA. After a few years, however, I wanted to gain more knowledge and expertise about golf equipment and custom fitting. As such, I went to work for Cobra/Puma Golf and gained incredible insight into the science of club making as well the art of custom fitting . Eventually, however, I wanted to return home. I love Oregon, and in 2014 I was fortunate enough to become a part of the RedTail family and move back to Portland!

I pride myself on my extensive knowledge of all golf products. I have a unique perspective having worked in both the manufacturing and retail sides of the golf industry. I work very hard and continually strive to maintain my expertise on club head designs, aftermarket shafts, and all golf equipment at the absolute highest level.

My fitting philosophy is simple, I want to find the set of clubs that will make you a better golfer and help you progress your golf game. Whether you are a beginner or have been playing for 50 years, I will help you find the equipment that will best suit your needs. In my fittings, I hope to provide you with an educational experience, so you understand how we arrived at the clubs that are the best fit for you.

As an instructor, I want to give you the tools and knowledge to be more successful on the golf course. I believe that in order to progress your game you need to produce an efficient and repeatable golf swing with proper fundamentals. Whether you are just beginning golf, have been playing for years, or are just looking to bring the enjoyment back to your golf game, it would be my pleasure to help you improve your game.

Outside of work I love to snowboard, I am a diehard Blazers fan, and I love discovering all the hiking trails that the Northwest has to offer. I also enjoy family days with my beautiful wife Emily and my two amazing children, Sloan and Brooks.
